Mountain walks around Snowdonia

Before you leave for a mountain walk please leave your intended route with someone you know along with your estimated time of return. Once you are back safely, please inform them of your safe return.

This is a very simple practise and can save hours and even days for the Llanberis mountain rescue team, and other rescue services searching the mountains for someone who has been reported missing. Having failed to inform others of their safe return. This wasted time could be vital in saveing another persons life.
Parking charges and bus details

There are several public parking areas at the start of the main path ways to the summit. Most of these are pay and display, at present the cost to park all day is £10.00 and £5.00 for up to 4 hours.

There is also an excellent sherpa bus service to Pen-y-pass from Llanberis and a park and ride service from Nant Peris to Pen-y-pass. During the winter months the sherpa service runs every hour and every half hour in the summer months.

Be warned - illegal parking at pen-y-Pass will incure a fine.

The Llanberis mountain rescue team are a group of volunteers, all with full time occupations. Please do not call on them unless the situation is serious...
